My name is Matthew Creely and I've been working in the commercial construction field for nearly a decade. I started in the field hauling materials to job sites, moved up to being a site superintendent, and eventually into estimating commercial remodels and ground-up projects.

I created this blog as a small personal project to share some construction estimating wisdom with new estimators, people looking into the field of estimating, or someone just looking to get some insight into how construction estimates are put together.

This site isn't intended to be the definitive source of estimating knowledge - there are many resources out there that really get into the finer details. It should be able to inform you of some the basics and provide some insight about how the profession works. You might also find the occasional running post, too.
